Materials needed

For this activity you’ll need:

  1. The worksheet for this activity (either opened in a PDF viewer on a desktop/tablet computer or printed out).

  1. One of the following versions of the knee kit:
    • Ligament knee kit
    • Minimal muscle set knee kit
    • Full muscle set knee kit

    You'll need all of the ligaments attached to the knee, including the iliotibial Tract/Band. Note that if you have the Mini version of the Knee Kit, your knee won't have an iliotibial (IT) tract/band but it will have the rest of the knee ligaments; you can just skip any of the IT tract portions of the activity.

    You do not need any of the muscles for this activity. If your knee kit has muscles attached, remove all the musclesmuscles. exceptYou forcan about five quad muscles to holdleave the patella into place.hang from the patellar ligament or you can remove the patella by unscrewing the screw behind the patellar ligament using the Allen wrench. If your knee kit doesn’doesn't look like one of the kits in the image above, follow these instructions for assembling or disassembling your kit.

  2. The Allen wrench, ruler,wrench and forcepsruler from your kit (if your kit has two Allen wrenches, you'll need the larger one).
